Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, Minister of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica, has been appointed as CEO and Chairperson to the Global Environment Facility, the largest public funder of environmental projects.
Mr. Rodríguez has been a long time advocate of biodiversity conservation and has been actively involved in facilitating BioAlfa, the first bioliteracy project conducted at a national level.
The iBOL Consortium congratulates Mr. Rodríguez for his new appointment and is looking forward to supporting his work at GEF by providing quality biodiversity data and its analyses, where appropriate, to help inform environmental actions in developing nations, especially during the post-2020 planning for biodiversity conservation.
