Bulgaria: International conference May 25-27
The International Conference on DNA Barcoding and Biodiversity (ICDBB) will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, from May 25-27. The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is organizing the event as part of BULCode Project, supported by the National Program “European Scientific Networks,” Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria.

Dr. Guilherme Oliveira Receives Medal of Merit
The Brazilian Association of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology has awarded Dr. Guilherme Oliveira, a Brazilian researcher, with a Medal of Merit. The award recognizes individuals who are driving research and knowledge in bioinformatics and computational biology in Brazil.
Spain joins iBOL Consortium
The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Spain’s largest public institution dedicated to the development and dissemination of multidisciplinary scientific and technological research, joins iBOL Consortium.
Italy joins iBOL Consortium
The Numerical and Experimental Zoology Laboratory in the Department of Biology at the University of Florence in Italy joins the International Barcode of Life (iBOL) as the research consortium’s 40th member. Dr. Leonardo Dapporto, who leads the lab – known as “Zen Lab” for short – will represent Italy on iBOL’s Science Committee.
