As an evolutionary biologist and zoologist interested in biodiversity conservation, Hui brings a wealth of research expertise in arthropods, cnidarians, and invertebrates. He also studies cross-kingdom interactions, and is interested in biotechnology, genomics, and molecular ecology.<\/p>\n

Hui received a research grant in 2021 to participate in the Earth BioGenome Project<\/a> (EBP) which aims to sequence the genomes of all known species. Hui\u2019s project will use the new PacBio Sequel IIe<\/a> System to sequence genomes of plants, animals, and fungi within the areas in and around Hong Kong. They are starting with a list of eukaryotic species that are of interest to the public and to academics.<\/p>\n
