The Brazilian Association of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (AB\u00b3C)<\/a> has awarded iBOL’s Dr. Guilherme Oliveira <\/a>with a Medal of Merit for his efforts to drive bioinformatics and computational biology knowledge in Brazil.<\/p>\n

AB\u00b3C brings together researchers and students working with biodiversity data through meetings and workshops, and it represents its members at national and international events. According to the organization’s website, the Medal of Merit also celebrates Oliveira\u2019s dedication to mentoring graduate students and the next generation of biodiversity researchers.<\/p>\n

Oliveira, who has been a member of iBOL’s Science Committee since 2019, represents the Vale Institute of Technology (ITV)<\/a>, a private non-profit research institute in Bel\u00e9m, capital of the state of Par\u00e1 in northeastern Amazon.
