Sequencing facility

The Canadian Centre for DNA Barcoding (CCDB) is the primary analytical hub for the iBOL consortium. It has generated over 75% of all available DNA barcode records and will continue its analytical work in support of BIOSCAN.

Sanger, second, and third generation sequencing platforms

$7,000,000 in sequencing  and robotic liquid handling instrumentation

Processing capacity of more than a million specimens per year

15+ years of experience in the field

The CCDB is constantly innovating to maximize workflow efficiency and to provide a high-throughput sequencing service. This extends to its sequencing methodologies, advanced robotics, protocol development, and physical lab design.
