jose Dr. José Antonio De la Peña Mena is President of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and head researcher at the Institute of Mathematics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, specializing in the theory of algebraic representation. His ground-breaking research has been recognized with the National University Prize for Young Researchers (1991) and the Prize of the Mexican Academy of Sciences in 1994.
