JohnMcPherson

Dr. John McPherson is the Director of Genome Technologies at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research in Toronto.

He received his PhD in Biochemistry from Queen’s University in Canada in 1989. He then moved to the United States where he contributed to the Human Genome Sequencing Project, first at the National Human Genome Research Center at the University of California, Irvine, then moving to the Genome Sequencing Center at Washington University’s School of Medicine.

In addition to serving as Chair of iBOL’s Technology Development Advisory Group, Dr. McPherson also serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Medicago Hapmap Project.
